Microbiology of unexplored extremes:
looking towards the future of Astrobiology
27th- 29th October 2017
This symposium will take us to the very fringes of the Earth’s biosphere, where the most extremophilic of microbes operate at the thermodynamic limits-for-life. Understanding 'extreme' microbiology is imperative to understanding how to preserve foods, books and other artefacts; understanding the origin(s) of life on Earth, and numerous questions in the field of astrobiology.  This symposium will focus on the latest scientific developments underpinning these issues.
